Theatrical Scholarships Northern Area Qualifying Heat

BALLET, TAP, MODERN & CONTEMPORARY 2022 THEATRICAL SCHOLARSHIPS.
Junior – Age 6-9 | Inter – Age 10-13 | Senior – Age 14-17
🔥 NORTHERN AREA HEAT INFORMATION – The candidates will take part in a 30 minute class in the dance genre/s they have been entered. The classes will be taken by experienced professionals who all have a wealth of knowledge in the above dance genres.
The area organisers will select adjudicators for the heats. Adjudicators will mark each candidate out of 50. If there is more than one adjudicator, marks will then be averaged to give an individual overall score. The 6 top scoring candidates from each category and section will then go through to our Grand Finals of solo performances in Birmingham on Sunday 6th November.

- First class starts at 9.30am

- Location: Wilmslow Leisure Centre, Station Road, Rectory Fields, Wilmslow, SK9 1BU
- Closing date for entries – Sunday 19th June 2022.
- All candidates at the heats will receive a certificate of participation

👑 GRAND FINALS, BIRMINGHAM 6th NOVEMBER– The winners from each heat will now come together to perform solo numbers in the genre they were chosen. The solo performance must be 1 and a half to 2 minutes in length and must be fully costumed with theatrical stage make-up. There will be 24 candidates per section but in the event of a tie, the committee will grant an extra place.
There will be 2 adjudicators for the finals, both of whom are professionals in the dancing world! Once again they will each mark out of 50 and their scores will be averaged. The candidates mark from the heat and from the solo performance will be combined for an overall final score.
🏆 AWARDS – 3rd place, runner up, and our NATD Scholarship Champions 2022 will all receive a cash prize for their school to be put towards furthering their dance education.
1st Place – £100
, 2nd Place – £75 & 3rd Place – £50
All participants at the Finals will receive a Scholarship trophy.

Once all of the entries are received you will then be sent out further information and a timetable for the Heats. This event is open to all of our Theatrical Schools and we welcome you all!
