Exciting News for Newly Qualified Associates – Bursary Awards
BURSARY AWARDS FOR BALLROOM, FREESTYLE & STREET, THEATRICAL TO BE PRESENTED BY OUR PRESIDENT AND LADY PAST PRESIDENTS.
ELIGIBILITY
All candidates who have qualified with a Highly Commended Associate in the Ballroom & Freestyle sections or a Distinction in the Theatrical sections between 1st April 2022 and 31st March 2024 and who gain the highest marks in their examination will be awarded a bursary in recognition of their outstanding achievement. The winning result for the Ballroom & Freestyle sections will be determined by the highest average mark received.
To be eligible candidates must not hold a Licentiate examination or above in any other dance genre.
The Michelle Webster Bursary will be awarded to the candidate gaining the highest marks in their Associate examination in either Freestyle, Street or Rock n Roll.
The Mary Richardson Bursary will be awarded to the candidate gaining the highest marks in their Associate examination in either Ballroom, Latin American or Classical Sequence. All candidates will be eligible who have taken their examination either by way of modules or 1 complete examination. Candidates who have taken the qualification via module must have gained Highly Commended in each examination to be considered.
The Yvonne Creber Bursary will be awarded to the candidate gaining the highest marks in their Associate examination in either Ballet, Classic Ballet, Stage Branch Tap, National Tap or Modern.
THE BURSARY
The winner of each section will receive an amount yet to be decided to be spent in the advancement of their dance teacher training. The money will be paid direct to the winners’ instructor(s) as and when training has taken place.
The amount of the bursary will be published by the end of March 2024. It is hoped that the NATD will receive sponsorship from one of its many customers to fund this exciting initiative.
CLOSING DATE
The closing date for 2024 is the 31st March. Please note that winners will be contacted directly after that date as you will need to be present at the 70’s Disco & BBQ, Presentation night at Congress on Friday 16th August 2024.
