Established in 1906 the NATD has been and continues to be highly influential in the dance world, not just in the UK but worldwide.

WHAT TYPE OF MEMBERSHIP CAN I HAVE & THE BENEFITS OF THESE.

As a member, not only will you be fully supported by Head Office, our examiners and committees are always happy to give advice on setting up classes and running exam sessions in addition to everything else that goes on behind the scenes. 

You will benefit from the fantastic range of discounted courses, subsidised entry to our biennial Congress, competitions including Medallist of the Year in Blackpool, biannual newsletters, access to workshops in your area, bursaries and scholarships for your students and much much more!

Ordinary Membership

For those of you studying for or have taken a professional qualification (associate or above) in any genre* with the NATD, you will automatically become an ordinary member. This entitles you to the great benefits listed above, but also to vote for your Council of Management, the President and at your local area AGM as well as hold positions of responsibility for example on the Council of Management and in your local area.

Extraordinary Membership

For those of you who have gained your professional qualifications with another dance organisation or have a dance related degree. Qualifications from other organisations are accepted and valued by the NATD for new members and you will be eligible for the great benefits listed above.

Student Membership

Ballroom – For those of you in full time education (proof is required) with a professional qualification, you are able to apply for a student membership where you are eligible for all the benefits listed above at a reduced price. You can also apply for a student membership once you have taken a Ballroom Genre Student examination.
Theatrical – For those of you in full time education (proof is required) with a professional qualification, you are able to apply for a student membership where you are eligible for all the benefits listed above at a reduced price. You can also apply for a student membership once you have taken an Intermediate Foundation or above examination.

Graduate 4B – BRAND NEW

This is unique to the NATD and for those of you in your final year of university or those who have recently graduated (within the last 2 years.) You will be eligible for the great benefits listed above at a reduced price.
Applicants should not already hold a membership or a Dance Teaching qualification such as Associate with NATD or any other recognised Awarding Organisation.

Retired Membership

For those of you who are of pensionable age and no longer receiving an income from dance can apply for a retired membership. This is a great option if you want to keep up to date with the world of dance and the NATD at a reduced price.

Joint Memberships

For those of you who are married, in a civil partnership, or reside at the same address as another member of the NATD, you can apply for a joint membership where you will receive the same benefits as each type of memberships (depending on which you are eligible for) at a reduced price.

Affiliate Membership – BRAND NEW

For those of you who hold an administrative role within a dance school or educational setting who wish to enter student for exams at your establishment. You will benefit from the great benefits listed above.
