Introduction and Aims

The aim of introducing “Solo Development Awards” is to equip NATD teachers with a new and exciting way of training their pupils in the art of dancing solo in the recognised Ballroom genres.  It will be made available in all dance genres where partners have been required in the past. All dancers need a challenge and a new way in which to express themselves.

The new award is offered in addition to the existing medal test system which is in place and will encourage correct technique, poise, balance, expression, performance, confidence and musicality.

The Solo Development Award is offered to dancers of all ages and comprises of five sections:

Level 1 PTSD and Pre-Bronze

Level 2 Bronze

Level 3 Silver

Level 4 Gold

Level 5 Above Gold
