London Theatrical

The NATD has been a large part of my life since the age of 4. Having studied and gained my membership in the various Theatrical genres I then chose a career in performance, dancing with the Tiller Girls in the late 1960’s. Hanging up my feathers I ran a large dance school in South East London for almost 40 years.

I was delighted to be appointed an examiner in 1991. Since then I have been pleased and feel privileged  to be part of several technical committees within the Association and in helping to plan the biennial Congress event in Cheltenham.

Positions held: President (2020 -2023), Theatrical Examiner, Stage Branch Tap Senior Examiner, Ballet committee member, London Theatrical area chairperson, Council of Management member, CDMT representative.

I have been involved with the NATD since taking my preliminary Ballet examination many moons ago!  Now with just a few more examinations under my belt, so to speak(!),  I am delighted to have been elected to the Council of Management.

Currently I examine all genres of Theatrical dance and sit on the Ballet and Tap Committees.  Being involved in the development of the new Gymnastic Dance Syllabus was an exciting and new venture and I am doing it all over again as part of group working towards producing a Musical Theatre Syllabus for the Association.  I also sit on the Congress Committee and am London Area (Theatrical) Secretary.

My love is teaching, and I am principal of my own Stage School in Hampshire and Assistant Principal of one in Surrey.
